It can be traumatic when you get a medical diagnosis that will change your life. Sonya Chapnick had that experience. In this episode, she talks about how she uses yoga and rest to ease suffering around that for herself and her yoga therapy clients.
Sonya is a certified yoga therapist with more than three decades of training and experience in a variety of yoga disciplines. She teaches a breath-centered practice and believes in the power of slowing down as a key to health and overall wellbeing.
Her specialties include customized classes for older adults, people dealing with persistent pain, injury, or the grief process, and programs for the visually impaired. She is the founder yoga gently and is a member of the faculty for the Optimal State Yoga Therapy School, and has been featured in Healthy Aging online magazine and the documentary “Yoga Therapy for Life”.
